Spain adopted the euro as its official currency on January 1, 2002.
Before that, the currency used was the Spanish Peseta (ESP).

The official and main language of Spain is Spanish, also known as Castilian. It is spoken by the vast majority of the population and is the language used in education, the media, literature, and daily life.
In addition to Spanish, there are other co-official languages in some regions of Spain, such as Catalan, Galician and Basque. These languages have a long tradition and are spoken by a significant part of the population in their respective regions. Other languages are also spoken in some areas, such as Asturian, Aragonese and Valencian, although they do not have official status.

Spain has a diverse climate due to its size and varied topography. In general, the climate is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. However, the climate can vary greatly depending on the region.
In the northwestern regions of Galicia and Asturias, the climate is mild and rainy throughout the year. In the Basque Country and Cantabria, the climate is also mild and rainy, but with more moderate temperatures.
In central Spain, including Madrid, the climate is dry and continental with hot summers and cold winters. In the southern region of Andalusia, the climate is Mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters.
In the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, which are located off the coast of Spain, the climate is subtropical with mild temperatures throughout the year.
